Pingshui Zhu Tea is produced in Pingshui, Zhejiang Province, China. Its most distinctive feature is its pearl-like shape, which has earned it the name “Zhu Tea” or “Round Tea.” When exported to Europe and the United States, it was translated as “Gunpowder” due to its round shape, reminiscent of gunpowder pellets.
Production Method
During harvesting, remove branches and old leaves, retaining only the tender leaves. When pan-frying, someone must fan the leaves to remove heat; otherwise, the aroma may be diminished. The process includes three main steps: Panning (pan-frying), rolling, and drying. Drying involves three consecutive stages. The complexity of this production method is rare among teas.
