Yellow tea is one of the six major tea categories in China. Compared to other types of tea, its distinctive feature lies in the additional process of “sealed yellowing” or “pile fermentation.” This process induces a mild microbial fermentation in the tea leaves, causing both the leaves and the tea liquor to turn yellow. Made from tea buds, its appearance resembles a silver needle. It is produced on Junshan Island, from which it derives its name.
Made from tea buds, this tea comes from Mengding Mountain in Sichuan. It is characterized by its flat, straight tea buds.
Made from tender leaves. Its popularity comes from using both tender buds and young leaves as raw materials.
Made from mature tea leaves, it is also produced in Huoshan County, Anhui Province.
