Characteristics of Huoshan Yellow Bud

Huoshan Yellow Bud is a historically significant Chinese tea that has been developed since 800 years ago and was recognized as tribute tea (tea offered to the imperial court). As a type of bud tea within the yellow tea category, it is made from tender buds and undergoes slight fermentation during production, resulting in the characteristic pale yellow color and aroma of yellow tea. The finest Huoshan Yellow Bud should have tightly rolled leaves with a yellow-green hue, a clear and bright tea soup, and a refreshing aroma accompanied by a mellow taste.

Production Process

The production process is relatively complex, with key steps including panning (high-temperature roasting), sealed yellowing, and drying. Sealed yellowing is the core step in making yellow tea, as it promotes the slow oxidation of enzymes within the tea leaves, imparting unique aromas and flavors. Huoshan Yellow Bud is cherished by tea enthusiasts for its delicate fragrance, fresh taste, and lingering sweetness.
