The most distinctive feature of this tea is its pearl-like shape, classified as a green tea. It is one of the rare bead-shaped green teas and is named Pingshui Zhu Tea after Pingshui, the main distribution hub for this tea.
Produced in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, despite its name, which translates to “White Tea,” it is actually a green tea. It is named “White Tea(Bai Cha)” because the tea buds are white in color.
This is one of China’s top ten famous teas, belonging to the green tea category, and is produced in the Huangshan region of Anhui Province. It was first created by the Xie Yutai Tea Shop during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.
