Types of Chinese Oolong Tea
Produced in Wuyi Mountain, located in northern Fujian Province. The unique characteristic of this tea is that the tea trees grow in the crevices of rocks, and the resulting Oolong tea is famous for its “rock essence” (岩韻).
Grown in Fenghuang Town, Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. Phoenix Dancong tea is praised as the “perfume of teas” and is ranked alongside Anxi Tieguanyin and Wuyi Mountain Rock Tea as one of China’s premier Oolong teas.
Originally from Anxi County in Fujian Province, this Oolong tea is made from the Tieguanyin tea variety and is known for its heavy roasting and medium fermentation.
Bergamot tea is a tea variety commonly used to make Oolong tea, with Yongchun County in Fujian Province being the most famous origin. The tea trees of this variety carry a distinctive fragrance.
