High Mountain Oolong Tea from a tea garden at an altitude of 2100 meters
Since 1980, tea farmers have discovered the unique characteristics of tea produced in Lishan after opening the first tea garden here. The tea leaves are imbued with a rich orchid aroma, and the significant temperature difference between day and night in the high mountains reduces the bitterness of the tea leaves while enhancing their sweetness. This astonishing quality quickly caused a sensation in the tea industry, making Lishan one of the most representative high mountain tea producing areas in Taiwan.
Our tea garden is located at an altitude of 2100 meters in Lishan, where it often snows from December to April. The significant temperature difference between day and night in spring and winter can reach 30 degrees Celsius, requiring tea trees to store more nutrients to withstand the cold, resulting in higher sweetness in the tea leaves. Due to the lower average temperatures in spring and winter, tea leaves grow slowly and become thicker, which helps improve the quality of the tea leaves. To maintain the high quality of the tea leaves, the garden only harvests tea in spring and winter each year.
